40 stars in OSO couldn't be wrapped in one towel
OM SHANTI OM is pacing towards an all time blockbuster status and celebrations haven't stopped ever since. Meanwhile Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going all out to salvage his film, even as it means taking a dig on the competing film.
One such remark around the expense on costumes in OM SHANTI OM hasn't been taken kindly by the people associated with the film. Bhansali has been quoted as saying, "I didn't spend money on costumes for 40 stars." While Farah Khan comes with a firm 'no comments' on the remark, another high profile crew member refuses to take it lying down. He says with tongue in cheek humor, "Yes, we did spend money on the costumes because 40 stars in OSO couldn't be wrapped in one towel!"
In a recent interview, Bhansali has also questioned if SAAWARIYA and OM SHANTI OM battle as a comparison between a tennis match and 100 meter race. Says the source, "Well, with all due respect to Mr. Bhansali, he must have seen by now that our 100 metre dash has been in the running for much longer duration than his so-called tennis match. The collections are out there to prove so and the second week has also continued with a similar steam."
The crew member also questions the reasoning behind Bhansali's grudge around SAAWARIYA seemingly loosing out due to 'people listening to premeditated opinions and developing a preconditioned mindset without seeing the film'.
"If that's indeed the case, why is he making judgments around OM SHANTI OM without seeing the film himself? On one hand he claims that he hasn't seen the film and doesn't want to! On the other hand he has so many things to say about our film. He seems to know everything about what the film is all about, what the actors have done in the film, what kind of money has gone into costumes and what does audience feel to say about the film. Strange, isn't it?"
