OM SHANTI OM was always slated for a November 9 (Diwali) release : Shahrukh Khan
A lot has been written about why the makers of the two grand ‘Diwali’ releases, OM SHANTI OM and SAAWARIYA could not avoid the clash. Almost anyone and everyone connected with the two big budgeted ventures have had their say. Did we say everyone? Sorry, ‘everyone’ did not include Shah Rukh Khan. So here we bring you the views of the man himself.
As per the superstar, OM SHANTI OM was always slated for a November 9 (’Diwali’) release. He adds that he had called the people connected with SAAWARIYA, including Sanjay Bhansali, to clarify whether they were coming on the same date. But they were undecided / unsure. So he assumed that they were not.
To his utter shock, he heard from them (later) that they had also decided on November 9 as SAAWARIYA’s release date. And that too after Shah Rukh Khan had finalized everything regarding the release of OM SHANTI OM! Obviously, there was no turning back.
