Guess how much money SRK's clothes made
The film, which tied up with popular retail chain Shopper's Stop, made a whooping Rs 60 million on its clothing line in three months alone.
Speaking at the Indian Fashion Forum event, Fashioning Bollywood, with retail brands in Mumbai, B S Nagesh, Shopper's Stop managing director, said, "It's time fashion retailers and Bollywood joined hands and left behind any inhibition about the lack of professionalism that exists in the film industry."
In his statement he revealed that the total sale generated through the OSO line at Shopper's Stop was Rs 60 million.
"This clearly signifies the returns that can be generated through a successful association with the film industry," Nagesh stated.
During the film's release, Shah Rukh and the OSO cast strutted their outfits at a fashion show, amid much cheering.
Shopper's Stop then launched the 1970s style clothing like bell bottoms and jazzy jackets, similar to what SRK and his costar Deepika Padukone wore in the film.

Farah's baby shower at Shah Rukh's 'Mannat'?
At a lavish function held at SRK's palatial Bandra bungalow 'Mannat' in Mumbai, the atmosphere was like a huge song and dance production, straight out of one of Karan's multi-starrers! The real life cast included stars like Rani Mukherjee, Priyanka Chopra, Karisma Kapoor, Tabu and wives of Farhan Akhtar, Suneil Shetty, Atul Agnihotri and many others.
Needless to mention that King Khan played a gracious host, along with wife Gauri Khan and close friend Karan Johar. There are also unconfirmed reports of a live 'Shava Shava' starring most of the guests! Farah Khan was showered with gifts and blessings by all the guests who had a whale of a time.
Just for those who are not conversant with the foreign custom of baby shower, it is roughly equivalent to the traditional Indian 'godh bharai' ceremony which is held by the family and friends for the expected mother, during the late stages of pregnancy.

OM SHANTI OM and SAAWARIYA set to clash - yet again!
OM SHANTI OM v/s SAAWARIYA is easily the most talked about clash in the history of Hindi cinema. Though there isn't any real need to bring on the story about the eventual winner, all this while it seemed that the dust had settled down.
Well, that's hardly the case as the makers of both OM SHANTI OM and SAAWARIYA have decided to release the home video versions of the two films around the same time. Slated to arrive around middle of February, DVDs and VCDs of these films by Farah Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are expected to arrive with a lot of noise and bring on yet another massive clash.
The clock has already started ticking for yet another event in the making!

Deepika padukone charge more than Aishwarya Bachchan
Soon after the resounding success of the Shahrukh-Deepika starrer Om Shani Om, a producer from south India Shankar, who made the super hit film Shivaji –The Boss with Rajnikanth, had approached the former model for the female lead role in his forthcoming film Robot, but Deepika is reported to have charged such a high fee which left the producer stunned as well as silent. Next, Shankar approached Aishwarya Bachchan-Bachchan for the role, but there is no confirmation whether the actress has said yes.
Sources close to the former beauty queen revealed that though money is no factor with Aishwarya, she is basically running a tight schedule. After having completed the magnum opus Jodhaa-Akbar, Aishwarya has just completed shooting for an international project Pink Panther – 2 and Sarkar Raj. Currently, the actress, her husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan and mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan are holidaying in the pink city of Jaipur in Rajasthan.
Now, what is worth mentioning is that perhaps the success of Om Shanti Om has gone into the head of Deepika, who has let go of an opportunity to work in a big budget film opposite South superstar Rajnikanth only for the sake of money. This move may prove to be costly for Deepika and she may not even get the opportunity to make amends. For Bollywood does not offer time to make amends!

Shah Rukh, the spoofer, gets spoofed!
Whether you like Rajkumar Santoshi’s latest film Halla Bol or not, what you would surely enjoy is the unsubtle way in which the film takes potshots at some top stars of Bollywood.
There is a scene in the film in which Ajay Devgan ’s character (Sameer Khan, an actor) speaks about product endorsements by Bollywood stars. With a cynic tone in voice, Devgan mocks Bollywood stars who endorse products just for the sake of big bucks without caring to use the product themselves.
Devgan’s character even goes on to mock a Bollywood star who endorses hair oil without ever using the product.
The allusion becomes clearer when Devgan spoofs SRK and mimics him, saying: “Thanda Thanda, Cool Cool.
Now, we all know that this is SRK’s punchline in an advertisement of Navratna oil that he endorses.
In the similar scene, Devgan carries the joke further by ridiculing the stars who dance at weddings of rich people for money. This, again, is an indirect potshot at SRK who is known to have danced at some high profile weddings.
A source from the industry says: “Shah Rukh hasn’t yet seen ‘Halla Bol’ but he must have by now heard about the scenes in the film that seem to mock him. Given his sporty nature, he is not likely to get offended by the scenes.”
Even Rajkumar Santoshi says he hasn’t heard any complaint from Khan about the scenes.
It may be recalled that Bollywood veterans like Manoj Kumar and Dev Anand were spoofed in SRK’s home production ‘Om Shanti Om’. In fact, Manoj Kumar had openly expressed his displeasure over spoof scenes in the film. However, peace was made just in time and the issue was not taken to the courts.
Now, SRK finds himself at the receiving end of the trick he used at others. Perhaps now he would understand how Manoj Kumar must have felt.

Gauri Khan and Karan Johar are hosting a baby shower for Farah Khan
The story goes that Shah Rukh, Gauri and Karan have been collecting books on motherhood, baby names and designer maternity clothes for a much-pregnant Farah from all over the world.
It was recently that they decided to organise a baby shower to congratulate Farah and mark the arrival of her triplets next month. Karan says, “Yes we are having a baby shower for Farah but it's too personal to talk about it.”
Although there is no particular theme for the party, the hosts have planned a few games for the guests. A source says, “We are quite fond of Articulate but Shah Rukh has promised to make arrangements for some fun games like guessing the birth date and with guessing the baby food's name after tasting it with closed eyes.”
Cakes and some snacks will be served at the party. Apparently, the hosts wanted to avoid food items that the soon-to-be mother cannot eat.
Apart from close friends Kaajal Anand, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Nandita Mahatani and Mehr Jessia, the generous hosts have invited most of Bollywood's married women including Kajol and former actress Sonali Bendre. The hush-hush event will not be attended by most male actors except for Shah Rukh Khan, Farah's brother Sajid Khan, husband Shirish Kunder, scriptwriter Mushtaq Sheikh and host Karan. Sajid Khan, when contacted, says, “My mother and I are attending Farah's baby shower today.”
Baby showers are usually held in the later stages of pregnancy, mostly during the last two months. A popular tradition in the US, close friends of expectant parents organise a baby shower to celebrate the arrival of the first baby, but there are baby showers for every baby these days. Usually, a family member from either side throws a shower. There're multiple showers too, where friends and co-workers also participate in the celebrations.

Shah Rukh Khan on Bollywood's fittest men!
When asked the obvious question (that comes to mind), as to who are the fittest men in the film industry, as per the 'Baadshah' himself, the answer was not surprising at all. SRK finds Akshay 'Khiladi' Kumar fit and the original macho man, Sunny Deol as very fit. He also mentions the names of Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan in the same breath. Quite an impressive line-up to be inspired by!
Let us see if we are able to see more of Shah Rukh's six-packs (and now abs!) in the item song of Rakesh Roshan's KRAZZY 4, for which he is scheduled to shoot during the current week itself.
However, as Bollywood's global superstar himself says that he is very shy and is not comfortable about dropping his shirt (like his friend Salman Khan), it seems highly unlikely.

Deepika Padukone appears set to storm in south film industry
Padukone’s name is “on the top of the list of contenders for heroine” in the Rs 100-crore venture by director Shankar, sources in the film production unit here said.
Shankar, who directed last year’s runaway hit “Sivaji - The Boss” also starring Rajinikanth, has already teamed up with the style icon and renowned music composer A R Rehman.
The 22-year-old model-turned-actress has received the Star Screen award for “most promising newcomer” and Stardust “Superstar of Tomorrow”" award.
Going by the mantra that actresses make a dent in Kollywood after starring opposite Rajinikanth or Kamal Hassan, the media began the buzz about Deepika acting in “Robot”.
The speculation earlier was that Shah Rukh Khan would play the lead in the the film, to be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, before Shankar succeeded in getting the Tamil matinee idol to agree.

Farah Khan in hospital
She finds it very tiresome and that’s why she has got herself admitted to the hospital for her routine check up. And she’s kicked out moving to town as she will be able to order food from all her favourite restaurants in town,” says one of her close friend. Now this is one die-hard foddie.

Deepika's perfect diction-nary diktats
With the rollicking box-office success of Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om, Deepika Padukone made her spectacular debut on the Indian celluloid. Not only did the model turned actress sweep away with all the accolades for her gorgeous looks and stunning screen-presence, but Deepika's well honed acting credentials impressed critics and audiences alike. Not many know that in order perfect her dialogue delivery, diction and acting skills, Farah Khan asked Deepika to undergo formal training with acting guru Vinod Tharani for almost a year. Deepika's personal training began two-three months before the shooting for OSO began in full swing. And that's not it. During rehearsals, Vinod would imitate Shahrukh Khan's voice and speech pattern so that Deepika would get her diction and pauses right. When contacted, Vinod confirmed the news and shared his experience of training Deepika for her grand Bollywood innings. "Yes, Farah called me and asked me to train Deepika in acting, dialogue delivery and Hindi diction for almost a year. Because Deepika is from Bangalore, we needed to especially work on her command over Hindi. She spoke Hindi only in upper notes, so it was my duty to acquaint her with lower notes of the language. I also familiarized her with classical Hindi vocabulary, the kind that is spoken in classic epics such as Mahabharata and Ramayana. I also recommended a list of Hindi books that I wanted her to read. Soon she was able to pronounce tough words such as antardesi and mahasangram with perfect fluency and flow" says Vinod. But those who've seen the film would find it impossible to believe that her Hindi has been worked on. "Yes, that's because she worked very very hard and was rigorously trained for over three months", quips Vinod
So, is it true that he imitated Shahrukh's speech pattern during rehearsals so that Deepika would perfect her pauses and dialogue delivery. "Yes I would imitate SRK's speech pattern. Shahrukh has a very unique way of delivering dialogues and his pauses during romantic or emotional scenes are periodical and predictable. So I would pause where I thought SRK would pause, so Deepika would know when to deliver her dialogue, when to pause and even when to break into a smile. Deepika would come back extremely excited from her shoots and tell me how SRK paused and spoke exactly the way I'd rehearsed with her. Basically, everything was perfected to the dot" recalls the acting guru.
When quizzed what according to him are Deepika's strengths as an actress, he left no stone unturned in waxing eloquent. "Deepika is a highly intelligent girl. She would grasp and incorporate whatever I would teach her with immediate effect. Her dedication to her work is hundred percent. Her attitude and approach is extremely professional, which I think is a big plus. She has great grasping power and memory too. Even though her diction was slightly problematic at the beginning, she countered it beautifully. The results are for all to see" says Vinod about his pretty student. Seems like Deepika is another perfectionist in the making. Aamir Khan listening?

Deepika might have conquered Yuvraj Singh’s heart
Yuvi’s professional despair on the field continued on Sunday too with him walking back to the pavilion without opening his account yet again. He was caught for a duck, his fourth failure in four outings this series.
All this happened within the sight of his ladylove Deepika, who was very much there at the Sydney Cricket Ground to cheer her ‘beau’.
According to reports, Yuvraj Singh was relied heavily upon to provide athleticism and precision during the Australian test, but he has proven to be little more than a liability.
Earlier on Wednesday, Deepika had apparently flown down to Sydney, accepting Yuvi’s special invitation to watch the ongoing India-Australia Test series.
It seems Yuvi has still not had enough of his sweetheart. If the dinner date was not enough, maybe a lunch date with Deepika after being ducked by Andrew Symonds would make up for that!

Deepika celebrates her birthday on January 5 in Australia
They may not concede to having an affair. But which girl would fly across the Indian Ocean to be with the man she calls “just a good friend”. May be Deepika has heeded the call of love. Or may be we should not jump the gun.
Let us say Deepika has gone to Sydney to cheer up the swashbuckling batsman who has unfortunately not been able to find form in the innings he has played so far against the Aussies. She is also there to celebrate her birthday with Yuvi on January 5.
Another reason why Deepika is in Australia is because she is soon set to begin shooting Yashraj Films’ next movie there, to be directed by Siddharth Anand , whose last film Tara Rum Pum was a dud.
Even though the shooting will begin next week, Deepika has gone there in advance, needless to say, to spend some quality time with Yuvi.
Though the couple has been spotted together many times in Mumbai over the period of last month, the chemistry between them became apparent on Yuvraj Singh’s birthday party at Enigma on December 19.
This time it is Deepika’s birthday on Saturday and we hope the chemistry between them would have become more electric by now.

Shahrukh's OSO and CDI in Top Chartbursters
We’ve never had 26 films worth talking about in a single year in a very long time. 2007 has yielded a rich harvest for Hindi cinema. While rating them, not only the primary function of Indian cinema - that it has to entertain a diverse audience - is taken into account but also factors such as intention of the filmmaker, originality, repeat viewing and fatigue, quality of writing, inventiveness of story-telling, devices employed, scale of production and star appeal.
No.1 Chak De India
The girls are amazing. Because Jaideep Sahni has written a script that combines girlpower, women’s liberation and the importance of team-spirit in a convincing underdog drama with authentic sporting action, gorgeously shot. Near flawless but for the predictability associated with the sports genre.
No.2 Taare Zameen Par
Films are where reality meets fantasy and no other film in a long while has walked these two worlds at the same time, often blurring the lines associated with the distinctively different genres while also tripling as an effective social commentary. No Indian film has ever captured childhood like this before
No.3 Om Shanti Om
Has there been a more irreverent film in the history of Indian cinema? One that does not take anything, including itself, seriously while paying tribute to an era of implausible plots, melodrama and revenge themes. Just by sheer quantity of laughs and goofs and quality of style and choreogcinema raphy, Om Shanti Om, despite the silly twist in the tale towards the climax, is a colourful musical that celebrates cinema.
No.4 Jab We Met
This is Dilwale Dulhaniya’s sequel in spirit. If Dilwale tried to define Indian-ness by procuring parental consent for love, Jab We Met goes deeper into the heartland of the country and tries to understand relationships in the context of a highly self-centric India where love blurs right and wrong.
No.5 Johnny Gaddaar
Here comes a quality suspense caper after ages. What’s more, it’s slick and stylish. It’s a rollercoaster of a mind-game. Never has a tribute film been this exciting with all the cheeky referencing. Not only is it unpredictable, it also has a brilliant ensemble cast. Also, because it has Dharam Paaji show us what a fantastic actor he is even today.
The Others
No.6 Namastey London – A surprisingly endearing Katrina-Akshay romantic comedy
No.7 Bheja Fry – But for Vinay Pathak’s brilliance, a shameless rip-off
No.8 Partner – Govinda-Salman work their magic in this remake of Hitch
No. 9 Dhamaal - is a Bollywood film directed by Indra Kumar and starring Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Aashish Chaudhary, Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffrey.
No.10 Salaam-e-Ishq – This mushy overdose worked for Valentine’s Day
No.11 Apne – This boxing drama has Dharam Paaji’s heart
No.12 Saawariya – Strictly for world-class cinematography and some of the music
No.13 Dil Dosti Etc – A daring gutsy anti-thesis to Dil Chahta Hai
No.14 Aaja Nachle – For Madhuri Dixit alone.
No.15 Ek Chalis Ki Last Local – A rare whacky neo-noir comedy
No.16 Life in a Metro – A ‘Closer’-like candid look at relationships
No.17 Loins of Punjab – Have you ever laughed more this year?
No.18 Honeymoon Travels – A refreshing, modern look at marriage
No.19 Cheeni Kum – But for the climax, this offbeat romance ought to rank higher.
No.20 Apna Aasman – Promising debut conveniently resolved.
No.21 Manorama – If this weren’t a remake, this mystery would rank higher.
No.22 Khoya Khoya Chand – Soha’s miscast in this time machine to the 1960s
No.23 Black Friday – Though authentic, loses pace structured like the book
No.24 Water – Talk of bad casting and location ruining a great script
No.25 Dharm – Pankaj Kapoor, you are God!
No.26 Eklavya – The cinematography is sheer poetry
