Arjun Crosses the Speed-Limit
We always knew models were ‘fast’. Hunks like Arjun Rampal especially. But it’s our right to warn you people out there before he ‘breaks the sound barrier’. And before doting wife Mehr gets all ‘uptight, hey, we’re just playing traffic cops here.
The warning is Better watch out before hitching a ride with Arjun. The man is possessed by a speed demon when he’s at the wheel of his swanky mean machine. His eyes light up when he has to drive on the highway. So, whenever he gets the chance, he asks his (rather terrified) chauffeur to take a backseat, while he takes control of the wheel.
You better have your seat belt on tight and be surrounded by airbags when he goes vroom; ‘coz it’s a sheer roller coaster after that. And peak traffic doesn’t bother him either as he cuts, swerves and whooshes past. Recently he was at Film City wrapping up a promo-shoot with Shah Rukh for Om Shanti Om; and when Mehr called, he said, Be home in 20 minutes jaan.
He meant it of course. How do we know? Well, we were the in the passenger seat, hanging on for dear life. And we didn’t even know which panic button to hit there were just so many fancy gizmo buttons in the airplane-like dashboard. It flew too. But the man was in control, reaching Bandra in 15 minutes flat. Now we know why his driver looks so old. Thanks to the traffic stopper, he’s aged. He’s probably just a teenager, right Arjun?
