"Shah Rukh is a sweetheart" - Arjun Rampal
Actor Arjun Rampal plays the negative lead in Om Shanti Om. We caught up with the actor and found out what Arjun had to say about Shah Rukh Khan -- the good friend, the good husband, the good father and more.
There was actually a time when negative roles were given to people with villainous looks but now it has completely changed. The best looking men in the country are doing negative roles.
CNN-IBN: Hi Arjun. How are you?
Arjun Rampal: Very well, thanks. How you doing?
CNN-IBN: Good. Tell me, do you agree you are too good looking to be a villain?
Arjun Rampal: No, I don’t think so. I mean it is challenging as an actor. I am an actor, I need to do different kind of roles and rarely get an opportunity in such a big commercial setup and such a big commercial film.
CNN-IBN: After Don we've observed that you and Shah Rukh have become great friends. He did a small jig in your movie and now you're doing his movie, you're both great friends, is it?
Arjun Rampal: Yes, Shah Rukh is a sweetheart. I love him. He’s a great guy. He's a wonderful friend. He's a great husband, great father and I think truly a star who has all the qualities to be a role model.
CNN-IBN: You’re doing everything -- acting, production and your film The Last Lear also did all the festival rounds. You were in Toronto. Tell us about that experience.
Arjun Rampal: Yes, The Last Lear is a completely different film than Om Shanti Om. I mean Om Shanti Om being the huge entertaining commercial blockbuster that it’s going to be and The Last Lear more serious, parallel cinema and completely in English
CNN-IBN: Before we wrap up could you please tell the audience why should they watch Om Shanti Om?
Arjun Rampal: You should watch Om Shanti Om because if you don’t you’re going to miss out on the best and the most entertaining film and you're going to feel alone because the whole world’s going to watch it.
