Box Office Report : Om Shanti Om has entered the UK Box Office charts at number seven
“Om Shanti Om,” the first mainstream Bollywood film to be premiered at London’s Empire Theatre in Leicester Square, Om Shanti Om has entered the UK Box Office charts at number seven and Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s Saawariya entered the UK Box Office charts at number twelve.
‘Om Shanti Om’ has made a massive £518,845 (US $1,068,866 - INR 42,085,306) while the Ranbir Kapoor – Sonam Kapoor starrer ‘Saawariya’ gets a reasonable £160,985 (US $331,632 - INR 13,058,048).
The per screen average for ‘Om Shanti Om’ came to £9977.79, which was the best average of the weekend. ‘Saawariya’s per screen average was £3499.63.
Eros Entertainment’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ is being shown on 52 screens, six more than the Sony Pictures release ‘Saawariya’, 46.
However, ‘Om Shanti Om’ is expected to make more money in the long run than this flick.
