Jab SRK and Ranbir Met
It happened on the Bombay Times’ anniversary party night, a meeting between the rising star and superstar of Bollywood.
The cool dudes of Om Shanti Om and Saawariya didn’t shed their shirts or drop their towels, but they certainly lowered their guards as they met up for the first time in public. But that’s what the annual BT party does, it creates candid moments like this one between Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor at a time when there’s supposedly a strong rivalry between their films at the box office.
For the record, Shah Rukh endearingly went up to Ranbir, embraced him and exchanged pleasantaries even as the cameras went flash-flash-flash. Later, the Bollywood Badshah was to smilingly say of his debutant competitor, “I heard he’s charmed the ladies a lot through his first film. He is a very polite and charming guy. God bless him.”
And Ranbir replied, “There’s always this warmth when I meet Shah Rukh. He’s always been very supportive and guiding. He is so senior, I have such a long way to go and much to learn from him.
